Welcome to Newly Appointed College Chaplain

8 September 2022

Trinity College is pleased to announce the Revd Joshua Brocklesby has been appointed College Chaplain. He will join the college for the start of the new academic year.

Joshua completed an undergraduate degree in History at Exeter College, followed by a short but varied career in advertising and time spent as a monk in the Community of St Anselm before discerning a calling to the priesthood. He then studied theology at Cambridge and Yale and served his curacy at St Mary’s Church, Watford from 2019.

Joshua says of joining Trinity: ‘I am thrilled to be joining the community at Trinity. I remember with great fondness my time as an undergraduate at Oxford and hope to help others have a similarly enjoyable experience being part of a community where we all flourish together. My own academic focus is on identity, race and theology which is an area of particular interest as someone with a mixed Jamaican and British heritage. I’m also passionate about the joy and beauty to be found in our diversity.

‘As Chaplain, please know I am there for everyone and offer pastoral care to the whole community, those of all faiths and no faith. If you don’t see me around college, you may find me on a football pitch or walking my dog Mo (a black Labrador) who will be very excited to meet anyone who wishes!
