Undergraduate Rooms

At Trinity

Trinity is one of the Colleges that guarantee students College accommodation throughout their degree. This means that you can always live with other students from Trinity, and you never have to worry about renting a room from a landlord, although you can choose to live out if you prefer.

We have 185 undergraduate student rooms on our main site, 107 of which are ensuite. Not all rooms are the same: They differ in bathroom facilities (ensuite vs shared), size (large vs standard) and aspect (quad facing vs street facing). They are all well equipped with WiFi and fridges. We have a further 105 undergraduate rooms in our off-site properties.

Undergraduate

Room Tour

Take a quick tour of some of the undergraduate accommodation that is available to students at Trinity and find out more about where you could be living.

Freshers accommodation

When you arrive for your first day at Trinity, you will have been allocated a room on the main Trinity site. (If you have special medical needs we should take into account, please let us know when we confirm your place in mid-August.) Current students will help you move your luggage in, and you will be able to meet the people who live on the same staircase. Most freshers live on a staircase with other freshers, which is a great way to get to know people in your year group.

Second-year accommodation

In the second year, students are housed on the main Trinity site. Rooms for second years are allocated by a ballot process. Some students opt for single study-bedrooms; others like to share a ‘set’ with a friend, which means they have a shared sitting room as well as two bedrooms.  Most of the rooms on the very popular Garden Quad are chosen by second years, as they are spacious with lots of light, and offer fantastic views over the college lawns.

Third year and beyond

In your third year (and fourth year if you do a four-year course), you can live in one of the well-appointed blocks of flats which Trinity owns on the Woodstock Road, a 15-minute walk north of the College (or five minutes by bike or bus). This lets you share a kitchen and bathroom with friends, while having your own study-bedroom.

When you arrive at Trinity, you will find the following items already in your room:

  • Bedding
  • Mattress Protector
  • Bed
  • Mattress
  • Desk
  • Chair
  • Wardrobe
  • Chest of drawers
  • Curtains
  • Notice board
  • Wall shelving unit
  • Ceiling lampshade

There are multiple kitchens and pantries available to students on site:

Staircase 2: MCR Kitchen

Staircase 3: JCR Kitchen

Staircase 5: Pantry

Staircase 7: JCR / MCR Kitchen

Staircase 14: Pantry

Staircase 18: Pantry

Levine: 2 Kitchens for use of Levine residents only.

All full kitchens have induction hobs – students should ensure that they have the correct pots & pans for these.

Maintenance requests and breakages must be reported via maintnenance@trinity.ox.ac.uk

Please be aware that the Accommodation Service and Maintenance Staff have the right to enter rooms for inspections, safety, or repair purposes. Whenever possible students are given advance notice of staff entering their rooms.

There is limited parking on-site and in front of our off-site properties. This is available for use for coming up and going down days. Outside these times students are not permitted to have a vehicle at College.

There is cycle storage available at multiple points inside College and at each of our off-site properties.

If you are living in our on-site accommodation you will have a Scout assigned to your staircase / building. Scouts are there to help you maintain your room over the year and will discuss a cleaning schedule with you on arrival.
