Postgraduate Accommodation

Single accommodation is normally available for graduates at Trinity for their first year and often for subsequent years. This means that you can usually live with other students from Trinity, and you don’t have to worry about renting a room from a landlord. Some postgraduate students live on the graduate staircases on the main site, others in our north-Oxford graduate properties.

Room Tour

Most of our postgraduate applications don't get the chance to visit Trinity in person; if you can't come see us but wonder what your accommodation might be like in college, this video shows you the range of rooms and accommodation facilities on offer to postgraduates.

Accommodation is provided on the main site for most graduates in their first year. The rest of the graduate fresher accommodation is located in the Nunnery, about 15 minutes walk (or five minutes by bus or bike) from the main college.

Graduates have their own study-bedroom and share a kitchen / dining area and a bathroom with a small group of other graduates. This is a good way to get to know other graduates when you arrive.

We also have a Graduate Hub at the Nunnery with 33 single study-bedrooms (some en-suite, some with shared bathrooms, and all using a large shared kitchens). The Nunnery also has a large common room with piano, flat-screen TV, comfy chairs; a large study area (with printers and wifi); and a gym / dance space.

When you arrive at Trinity, you will find the following items already in your room:

  • Bedding
  • Mattress Protector
  • Bed
  • Mattress
  • Desk
  • Chair
  • Wardrobe
  • Chest of drawers
  • Curtains
  • Notice board
  • Wall shelving unit
  • Ceiling lampshade

There are multiple kitchens and pantries available to students on site:

  • Staircase 2: MCR Kitchen
  • Staircase 3: JCR Kitchen
  • Staircase 5: Pantry
  • Staircase 7: JCR / MCR Kitchen
  • Staircase 14: Pantry
  • Staircase 18: Pantry
  • Levine: 2 Kitchens for use of Levine residents only.

All full kitchens have induction hobs – students should ensure that they have the correct pots & pans for these.

Maintenance requests and breakages must be reported via maintnenance@trinity.ox.ac.uk

Please be aware that the Accommodation Service and Maintenance Staff have the right to enter rooms for inspections, safety, or repair purposes. Whenever possible students are given advance notice of staff entering their rooms.

There is limited parking on-site and in front of our off-site properties. This is available for use for coming up and going down days. Outside these times students are not permitted to have a vehicle at College.

There is cycle storage available at multiple points inside College and at each of our off-site properties.

If you are living in our on-site accommodation you will have a Scout assigned to your staircase / building. Scouts are there to help you maintain your room over the year and will discuss a cleaning schedule with you on arrival.

Laundry facilities are available at the following locations:

  • Levine Building
  • Dolphin Yard
