Head Gardener

Kate Burtonwood

  • I manage the gardens and gardens team at Trinity.
  • I work with the Gardens Committee to care for and develop the gardens.
  • I’m usually out in the garden (come rain or shine).

You will often find me working in one of the beds or borders around college, or behind a loaded wheelbarrow. I do have an office too for the admin work of managing the gardens. Please contact me with any feedback or ideas for the garden.

I studied European and Middle Eastern Languages at Brasenose College and spent some years in office roles, including translation and research roles, project management and management training. However the urge to retrain led me to RHS horticultural courses, a traineeship at Oxford Botanic Garden and, from there, to work in various historic, public and private gardens.
