Undergraduate Admissions Officer & Chapel Administrator

Ian McGurk

  • I am responsible for administration relating to undergraduate admissions.
  • I support the Chaplain in the running of Trinity College Chapel.

Profile

I have administrative responsibility for Trinity’s undergraduate admissions process, which makes me the point of contact for prospective students from pre-application (alongside the Access & Outreach Office) right up until they begin their course. I work as part of the wider Academic Office team.

I also work with the Chaplain to support the life of Trinity’s beautiful Chapel. I can be contacted with enquiries relating to our regular services, and work alongside our Conference and Events Administrator to support events in Chapel such as concerts, weddings and memorials.

Before joining Trinity College, I worked for Activate Learning at The City of Oxford College, initially as a Study Coach.  Later I took on the role of Learning Support  Co-Ordinator - it was my responsibility to manage the administrative processes involved in meeting the support needs of all relevant students.

Prior to this I worked as a Support Worker.  I supported adults with learning disabilities which I found to be a very varied and rewarding experience.

Earlier still I worked at the Examination Schools of the University of Oxford.  I worked as an Examination Services Officer, then subsequently as Taught Degrees Supervisor. I was responsible for the submissions desk and examiner payments.
