Students Recognised for Contributions to College Life

5 July 2022

Undergraduates Laura Bradby and Harry Walton have been given awards for their contribution to the life of the college and JCR.

Laura Bradby has won the Stirling Boyd Prize, which is awarded annually to the student whose attainments and influence on the life of the College are, in the opinion of the President and Fellows, of the highest value.  Laura’s nominations recognised her academic excellence and her encouragement and support of fellow students, as well as her outstanding commitment to outreach activity.

Harry Walton has been given the David Evers Prize by the JCR; this prize was established by an anonymous Old Member of Trinity, in memory of a friend and fellow Trinity Old Member. The prize is awarded annually by election by Trinity undergraduates for one of their fellow students who ‘best exhibits the fellowship, sportsmanship, character, generosity and good-humour which gives substance to the distinctive Trinity style’.

Harry says of winning: ‘My life in Trinity would be nothing without my friends, they are the reason why I am able to get involved with college life; the boat club in particular, so I dedicate this award to all of them. The aca-people squad , Chester Arms fan club and the rocketry society (despite not exactly being a member). I hope I will be able to support all of you as much as you have supported me already.’
