Hilary Boulding Announced as Next CEO of Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust

19 September 2024

Trinity President Dame Hilary Boulding has been appointed by the Trustees of the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust (WHT) as the Trust’s next Chief Executive. She will join the Trust in September 2025 following the completion of her 8-year term as President of Trinity College.  She will succeed current CEO Alexandra Henderson, who will continue as a Trustee of the WHT.

The Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme provides outstanding university graduates and professionals from developing and emerging economies with the opportunity to pursue fully-funded graduate studies at the University of Oxford, combined with a comprehensive programme of leadership development, long-term mentoring and networking. The Scholarships were established in 2007 and the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust was co-founded in 2014 by Lord Weidenfeld and Mr André Hoffmann. In the past 17 years, the programme has supported around 450 scholars from nearly 100 countries.

Dame Hilary says: 'I’m delighted to be joining the Weidenfeld Hoffmann Trust as its next Chief Executive. I have huge admiration for the Trust’s work and the exceptional quality of its scholars, who all share a commitment to making a significant and positive impact on the world.

'I have been hugely privileged to serve as Trinity College’s President in recent years and I’m grateful to the whole Trinity community for their collegiality, friendship, and commitment to making Trinity the welcoming and supportive place it is. Working with talented students is energising and fulfilling, and I’m excited at the prospect of working with the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholars when I join the Trust in a year’s time'.
