Visiting Trinity

Trinity College welcomes visitors throughout the year. As a busy and lively working academic community we like to ensure that you will enjoy your visit, whether it is as a potential student here, an alumnus, an academic visitor, or a tourist.

We do this by making the college accessible at regular times of the day and with particular facilities open for you to see. The principal areas of Trinity that are normally open are the Dining Hall, Chapel and extensive gardens. You are asked not to enter staircases, college rooms and areas marked as private. Dogs, except guide dogs, are not allowed in the college. Please do not walk on the grass in Front Quad. CCTV is in use throughout the grounds. Leaflets with a suggested walking route are provided. Supervised children are welcome. Our visitor shop sells recordings by the chapel choir, various publications about Trinity and other subjects of interest, and other souvenirs.

Opening times

Generally open 09:30 to dusk.  Please note the Dining Hall is closed for lunch 12:00-14:00, however the Chapel and gardens remain open .

Open throughout the Christmas period including Christmas Day and Boxing Day

Generally open on all Bank Holidays

If you wish to check that we are open on a particular date, contact the lodge +44 (0) 1865 279900

Opening times are subject to occasional change and we may close for private events.

To assist in the upkeep of the beautiful buildings and the cost of providing facilities, charges are made for most visitors: those who hold an Oxford University Bodleian card or an Oxford Alumni Card can come in free of charge. Outside these times, the college is open only to those on college or official University business.

Groups

We welcome groups, even of large numbers, but do ask that all groups split up on site to numbers no more than twenty-five in any one place, and rotate between the Chapel, gardens and Dining Hall. Groups should book in advance. We do not accept payment by cheque.
