DPhil student Lewis Anderson has become the first player to have appeared in five Varsity Match-winning sides at Twickenham. He was cheered on by over fifty Trinity members and friends, who had gathered to enjoy the match and the hospitality in the Blues Village.
The match was also memorable as Lewis and his team mates set a number of other records with their 43 – 6 victory: the only team to score 40 plus points in 142 years of Varsity Matches; the highest margin of victory ever (previously 32 in 1909), and the first time that Oxford has achieved five victories in a row.
The President, who is also president of OURFC, was joined at the game by Old Members, current students and their guests, enjoying for the third time the Blues Village, which allows members of colleges to gather in warm and convivial surroundings before and after the match.
Lewis Anderson, loosehead prop, is in his first year of studying for DPhil in Sociology, having already completed two MSc degrees at Trinity.
