Schools and Outreach Programme

Schools & Outreach Programme at Trinity College

Regionalisation – Oxfordshire and the North East:

The University of Oxford has developed a programme of ‘link colleges’ to simplify communication between UK schools and the University. Every school in the country is linked with an Oxford college.

This scheme not only allows the University to get to know schools and colleges in specific regions better, but also gives schools and colleges a more personal and direct way of staying in touch with the University. Trinity College is linked with Cleveland, Darlington, Durham, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Stockton on Tees in the North East and Oxfordshire. We organise a diverse and flexible programme of outreach events for these regions, including outbound visits to schools and welcoming school groups into the college. These events offer students an opportunity to get a flavour of life at Trinity College and the University, and to explore academic interests in new ways.

Meet the Access Team:

Head of Access: Hannah Rolley

Until September 2018, Hannah was the Recruitment and Schools Programme Officer at St Hilda’s College, Oxford. Prior to this role, she was deputy head of sixth form at Banbury Academy. In previous educational roles, she ran support and development programmes for gifted and talented students and worked as a Home School Link Officer in West Oxfordshire, providing support to disadvantaged pupils and their families. Here at Trinity, Hannah is developing and implementing a new and improved outreach strategy with, amongst other characteristics, a strong focus on working with teachers as well as their pupils.

Access Officer: Emma Johnson

Emma has recently completed an MSt in British and European History here at the University. While completing her undergraduate degree, Emma was very involved in outreach at the University of Nottingham. Working for the National Citizens’ Service with young people from a range of different backgrounds has further developed her keen interest in widening participation in higher education.
