Trinity College tutorial fellow Paul Fairchild has been recognised for his excellent teaching by Oxford University’s Medical Sciences Division.
The 2019 Teaching Excellence Awards were presented on Wednesday 23 October and recognise excellence in medical sciences teaching; Dr Fairchild has been awarded one of 11 ‘excellent teacher’ distinctions for his undergraduate lectures on medicine.
Dr Fairchild says: ‘I am deeply grateful to have received recognition for the lectures I contribute to the medical course. Inspiring the next generation of medics and biomedical scientists is an immense privilege and having such talented students makes the task all the more fulfilling.’
Dr Fairchild was given the award for his teaching of infection and immunity to third-year medical students; he was presented with the award by Gavin Screaton, Head of the Medical Sciences Division at Oxford University.
