COVID-19: Resources and advice for staff

Update 4 November: We are in a period of new national restrictions and it is essential that you follow all Government guidance when in college, including rules around socialising.

We are currently reviewing what the new law and guidance means for services provided by your college and we will publish more information as soon as we can.

The welfare of our staff, fellows and lecturers is our absolute priority, and we will continue to provide as much advice, care and support as we can. The information and resources below will ensure you understand the measures Trinity and the university are undertaking to keep you safe, while allowing you to work and take part in college life as much as possible.

Key information for all staff:

The main Oxford University COVID19 Response pages for staff contain the most up to date and detailed information for college and university staff, including guidance on the university’s face coverings policy and information about the Early Alert testing service; home-working and wellbeing support for staff who will be continuing to work remotely, and information about teaching and supporting students under the new arrangements.

New ways of working

Please note that we will be applying a social distance of 2 metres at all times.

Each department has carried out detailed risk assessment, and so will have revised schedules, with PPE in place where required.

Masks and social distancing will be required for teaching and all indoor spaces, and non-student-facing staff are advised to continue to work remotely where possible.

Temporary marquees and additional teaching space

We have arranged a marquee in Dolphin Yard to provide cover for the staff and student lunch and dinner queue in wet weather.

Additional teaching rooms in college have been made available to ensure there is enough capacity to undertake teaching in rooms that meet social distancing and public health requirements. Please email Isabel Lough to make arrangements for booking rooms for teaching.

What to do if you have COVID-19 symptoms

If you are concerned about possible COVID symptoms, please see University guidance at

Meetings and policy on guests

We are asking all Trinity members not to invite guests into College for meals or to meet socially, as we are keen to minimise the number of people onsite.

If you need to arrange a College meeting, please continue to use Teams wherever possible. If you must meet in person, then please use the outdoor marquee or meet in a well- ventilated office, with social distancing in place at all times.

Meals and food

A hot lunch can be collected from the kitchen servery as usual from 11:45, and all staff will eat in the College Bar, rather than Hall. SCR lunch arrangements have been circulated to fellows; a cold takeaway lunch option in the Britton Room is available for all staff.
