Research Prize

Dr Elina Screen, Lecturer in History, has received a prize from the Dr. Philos. Hans Holst’s Memorial Fund for her work on two illustrated catalogues of coins in the SCBI series on Norwegian Collections.

The prize recognises her work towards the realisation of the project and her commitment to bringing knowledge of numismatic material from the Norwegian Viking Age to both scholars and the public.

Dr Screen discusses her work on the ‘Anglo-Saxon Coins in Norway’ project—a collaboration between the British Academy’s Sylloge of Coins of the British Isles (SCBI) research project and the Norwegian partner museums, which led to the two catalogue volumes—in the British Academy Review.

Dr Screen is also General Editor of the British Academy’s Medieval European Coinage research project.
