Trinity College has gone creative for this year’s COVID-modified Oxford Open Doors event.
The annual Oxford Open Doors event returns this weekend, celebrating the city’s places and its people, but with a new format for 2020. When COVID-19 put holding Oxford Open Doors under threat this year, organisers took the decision to adapt rather than cancel, producing a mixture of virtual events, self-guided walks and free but pre-booked activities and tours to limit the number of visitors at any one time.
The online programme features a virtual tour of Trinity College, which can be viewed on on the Oxford Open Doors website from 10am to 6pm, or on the college YouTube channel.
College Conference and Events manager Louise Turner says: ‘We always enjoy welcoming visitors to college for Oxford Open Doors, so this year thought it would be nice to provide what we can in the way of a virtual experience – complete with some facts and history. We also hope some of our alumni, friends and potential visitors will enjoy seeing college even if they can’t visit. We hope that when it is safe and we are back to normal we can welcome lots more visitors to our beautiful site!’
