Regular Donations

Supporting Trinity

Give Now

Trinity is a registered charity, charity number 1143755.

Regular gifts — whether monthly, quarterly or annually —made over a period of three or five years, are extremely important as they allow the college to plan ahead.

Regular gifts can be made by standing order, direct debit or payroll giving.  Soon, Old Members and Friends from overseas will be able to make regular gifts by credit card.  Information about how to do this will be available soon.

Standing Order

Standing order mandates from a UK bank account are available to download or can be requested from the Alumni and Development Office

Direct Debit

You will soon be able to set up a direct debit from a UK bank account online, but this facility is not yet available.  It is coming very soon.

Payroll giving

Your employer may be involved in a payroll giving scheme such as ‘Give as you Earn’ (GAYE), which is run by the Charities Aid Foundation. Schemes like this allow regular gifts to be deducted from your gross salary. Your employer may even match your donation.

If your company is involved in such a programme, please ask your HR department for further details and let the Alumni and Development Office know that you plan to make a gift in this way.

Making your gift tax efficient

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase the value of your gift to Trinity through the Gift Aid scheme. By so doing, you will allow Trinity to reclaim the basic rate of income tax on your donation and increase the value of your gift by 25 per cent at no additional cost to you.

For your gift to qualify for Gift Aid, you must have paid income tax or capital gains tax that is equal to, or more than, the amount of tax that is claimed by each charity you have donated to within that tax year (6th April to 5th April). Taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify.

Higher rate taxpayers are also entitled to claim tax relief on their gifts in the form of a rebate from HM Revenue & Customs. This is the equivalent of 25% of the original (net) gift to the College and means that a net gift of £1,000 to Trinity will cost the donor £750.
