A report into the state of the chapel shows that the exquisite Grinling Gibbons carvings, the plasterwork and the paintings need particular attention alongside a comprehensive programme of cleaning. At the same time, the organ requires a thorough overhaul.
Some work was undertaken in 2014; the cost of the remaining work is likely to be in excess of £1 million and it is hoped to fund most of this through donations. The work to the interior began in April 2015 and is expected to take a year. News of how the work is progressing is on the Chapel page.
