Professor Sir Paul Collier, Honorary Fellow, has been awarded the prestigious British Academy President’s Medal.
At the heart of Professor Collier’s work is the promotion of research and policy change in Africa and the award recognises the pioneering contribution he has made in bringing ideas from research into policy within the field of African economics.
Started in 2010, the President’s Medal rewards ‘signal service to the cause of the humanities and social sciences’. Other winners this year are theatre and film director Peter Brook, renowned primatologist and UN Messenger of Peace Dame Jane Goodall, and acclaimed author and critic Clive James.
