LAWNS PLAY 2011

The Trinity Lawns Play this year is Amadeus, which is being staged from the 8-11 June. The play, by Peter Shaffer, was adapted for the big screen in the 1980s. Performances are at 7.30 pm each day, with matinee on the Saturday at 2.30 pm.

'Spiteful, sniggering, conceited, infantine Mozart! Sh*t-talking Mozart with his botty-smacking wife!'

He might have composed music of such beauty that he is remembered more than 200 years after his death, but Mozart was no man of manners. A little boy trapped in the body of a man, he inspired murderous jealousy in his contemporary Salieri and suffered the consequences...

Curious to see the sordid side of talent? Suffering from a crippling sense of the masses' mediocrity? Or just hoping for a night's enthralment in a sumptuous setting? Come to the Trinity College Lawns play and see a musical god's clay feet revealed.
