Robbie Hyland (2007), the college’s Access and Admissions Officer, and current student Andrew Bennison, the JCR Access and Bursaries Rep, are among the volunteers at London 2012.
Robbie is 'Medal and Flower Bearer' during the victory ceremonies, part of a team of twenty-seven responsible for delivering victory ceremonies on the Mall for the Olympic games and at the Olympic Stadium for the Paralympic games.
Andrew is part of the Event Services Team at Wimbledon, which will involve all sorts of different tasks, including checking tickets, helping with seating, and providing information to spectators. Most importantly, as Andrew said, he'll have to be friendly and welcoming to visitors from all over the world.
Robbie and Andrew are two of 70,000 volunteers (officially 'Games Makers'), out of 250,000 who applied to take part.
