Trinity MCR Gala 2013

It is often said that Trinity College, due to its size and character, is more like a family than a College. In my experience this is definitely true and the MCR is a vital and active part of this family. With a comparatively small number of graduate students we can focus on individual ideas and interests. The MCR constitutes the body of graduate students in College and also includes 4th year undergraduates and associated members. We have two common rooms, the main one being in Staircase two on the main College site. It is always well stocked with free coffee and tea and it’s also the place to find our newspapers and magazines.

We are a diverse community with a large number of international students (including myself) pursuing a vast number of different research topics and other interests. This gives us a great opportunity to create an open and active exchange of ideas and leads to numerous MCR events over the course of the year: from the Thanks Giving Dinner to the Annual MCR/SCR Cricket Match, from Exchange Dinners with other Colleges to the MCR/SCR Academic Forums, and from the T-bop to Welfare Coffee & Cake. We are sure that there is something there for every single member and if we’ve forgotten something, we are more than happy to add it to our term card.

The MCR Committee is always around to support every aspect of your graduate life in Trinity. This includes organising the mentioned social and cultural events, providing you with a welfare and support structure, sports, IT and representing all of its members to College. If you want to be a part of the Committee please contact me at any time for more information.

I hope you will enjoy your time at Trinity College MCR as much as I do and please feel free to contact your Committee any time. Enjoy browsing our website!
